Happy Hump Day! After a few weeks of holidays and short workweeks, this week seems to be lasting a really long time! Anyone else feel like time is dragging this week?
So I just wanted to report in on my "Going Clean" challenge. I'm thrilled so many of my readers have commented or emailed me to say they are on board too. We're going to lick that crappy holiday junk food together, by golly! I have been right on track with eating all week and am feeling great about it. Each morning I plan the food I will be eating, track it ahead of time in my FitDay log and then eat what I've planned. If I deviate from that plan I go back and adjust the amounts or food in FitDay to make sure it's accurate.
So right now I seem to be averaging about 1400 calories per day. This is a comfortable level for me - gives me enough food to keep me full and satisfied throughout the day but not so little that I feel like I'm deprived or dieting. Unfortunately, I'm not sure it's really enough. I know that I'm burning about 2200 calories a day (thank you GoWear Fit for telling me that!) ... so that puts my calorie deficit at about 800 calories a day. And from everything I've read an optimum deficit is more like 500-600 calories. But for now I'm going to stick with 1400 and see what happens.
One big concern I have is my school schedule. I should start planning for that right now. Next week begins the new semester and I have class Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:00pm to 9:45pm. Which means that I won't have time to eat dinner at the right time those nights. Not a big deal for most people, but for someone with hypoglycemia, it's an issue. I've crashed during class before and it is not something I want to do again. So, gotta make a plan.
How are you all doing with your Going Clean challenge?

So far so good, Pam. Still feel like I'm detoxing from the carbs though. Been very tired the last couple of days.

Pam,
ReplyDeleteAll I can say it I'm working on it . .I am a work in progress . . glad to hear you are doing to sell. I have been very faithful with working out I am on day 9 . . so for me that is good. I am looking at a race the end of Febuary in Reese . . interested?
@Karen - Ooo... great new picture! Those carbs suck, don't they? Detoxing only lasts a couple days so we should be in the clear soon.
ReplyDelete@Kristy - Ummm... it's still snowy in February girl. A race in the snow? I think I'm scared.
